Sriveda Sattva Pvt Ltd., formerly known as Sri Sri Ayurveda, has launched apparels through its website and mobile application to cash in on India’s growing retail industry, Managing Director Arvind Varchaswi told BloombergQuint on the sidelines of India Retail Forum.
The company’s foray into the new space follows yoga exponent Ramdev-led Patanjali’s announcement to diversify into clothing line. Patanjali has plans to enter into apparels by April 2018 and has a sales target of Rs 5,000 crore in the first year.
Sriveda Sattva plans to launch 10 more products in the personal care space and seven in home care category by the end of 2017. The ayurveda player will also have a products like dhoop, kum kum and incense sticks.
The company is looking at opening 600 franchise stores in the next one year.
